Baby

Using both hands, pretend to hold a baby and rock side to side.

Using both hands, form into "C" hand-shapes. Bounce thumbs on shoulder (as if adjusting a backpack).

Ball

Using both hands open and facing each other, tap fingertips together (forming a ball shape with your hands). Tap repeatedly.

Sign "ball" then turn both palms upwards, touch pinkie sides together and rotate wrists until hands are parallel.

*Ball Popper*

Place fingertips together (making the shape of a ball) then move arms up and down several times (making the movement of the ball in the ball popper)

Balloon

With open hands, touch sides of pointer fingers to mouth. Curve hands around in front of you until your pinkie fingers are touching.

(ASL Deer) With both hands open and fingers spread, tap thumbs on side of head.

Banana

Hold up one index finger (banana). With other hand, using index and thumb, make movements from top of "banana" to the bottom, repeat.



Barn

Using two "B" hand-shapes, touch index fingers together, move slightly out and down, then move hands down and parallel to each other.

Using "B" hand-shape, move dominant hand horizontally down "Barney's back."

Bat (animal)

Cross arms in front of chest. Tap index fingers on opposite fronts of shoulders. Repeat.

Baseball Bat

Using both hands, imitate holding and swinging a baseball bat.


Bath

Using both closed hands, rub up and down on torso in alternating movements.


Bear

Cross hands in front of body. Using open and relaxed hand-shapes, 'scratch' opposite fronts of shoulders. Repeat.


Bert

(from Sesame Street)

Using a "B" hand-shape, move index finger from one eyebrow to the end of the other (showing Bert's one eyebrow).


Beautiful

Using one hand, palm facing you, bring open hand in front of face then close, starting with pinkie and ending with the thumb.


Bike

Using both closed hands, knuckles facing forward, move hands as if pedaling a bicycle.



*Bingo*

Make a fist and tap on open, up-turned palm twice. Then with "B" hand-shape raise hand.

Bird

Using your index finger and thumb, hold both by your mouth and touch each other twice.

Book

Holding both hands flat, palms together, with pinkie fingers still touching, open hands so both palms are facing upward.

Boots

Using "B" hand-shapes, fingers pointing downwards, tap sides of index fingers together twice.

Boy

Bring thumb to index and middle fingers, as if gripping the bill of a cap.

Bread

Holding hand with fingers together, palm facing body, draw the little-finger edge of the opposite hand down over the back.

Brother

Sign "Boy" followed by crossing index fingers in front of body.

Bubbles

Holding both hands in front of your body, alternate left and right hand pinching using pointer finger and thumb. Move hands up as you alternate.

Bug

With thumb touching tip of nose, extend index and middle fingers.

Build

With hands flat, palms facing down, stack hands-one on top of the other several times.

Bunny

With index and middle fingers extended, hold pinkie side of hand against side of head. Bend index and middle fingers.

Bus

Using "B" hand-shapes, tap pinkie side of one hand to index finger side of other (indicating the length of the bus).

Butterfly

Crossing hands in front of you and interlocking thumbs together 'flap' hands by bending hands forward several times.

A

Airplane

Extend your index finger, pinkie finger and thumb (I love you hand-shape). "Fly" hand across body.

All Done

Both hands open and palms facing down. Cross arms infront of your body then bring out to sides.

Animal

Touch fingertips of both hands in middle of chest. Move elbows of both hands toward and away from each other (imagine the breathing movements of an animal's lungs).

Apple

Place the pointer finger knuckle of your "A" hand-shape on your cheek. Rotate.

Aunt

Hold an "A" hand-shape next to your chin. Rotate.
